Trying to settle in the USA can be very tricky. Several students come to college knowing nothing about both fraternities and sororities in the States, and often lose out on the chance to make important social and professional connections that can prove crucial to acquiring jobs.

Technically, social fraternities and sororities are groups of men or women that are formed by a brotherhood or sisterhood and have common goals as well as aspirations.
These fraternities and sororities are named by greek letters, are run by alumni, and have branches nation wide in almost every college in the USA. Such clubs form a close group of friends that not only bond together, but share educational and professional resources that give students an upper hand against peers.
Fraternities and sororities are also known for hosting a number of social events and enjoying college spirit and life to its fullest.
Professional fraternities, on the other hand, focus on career preparation and are very useful for getting internships.
Business fraternities, in particular Delta Sigma Pi, Alpha Kappa Psi & Beta Alpha Psi are well known across all campuses for having resourceful alumni networks and high post college employment rates. Getting into such fraternities can be tricky, as admission processes are very selective; however, that being said, the return on investment made is more than worth it.
For incoming international students who like intense experiences with high rewards, joining fraternities and sororities is a great way of enhancing one’s foreign college experience and is highly recommended!
